A pleasant walk high up along a beautiful wooded valley before dropping down into the valley and a tranquil wooded nature reserve with a small river leading into a large lake teeming with wildlife. There is plenty of opportunity here to watch birds, to paint or simply relax. The walk returns along the floor of the valley on a flat, well-metalled path.

There are some corrections which would help people to follow the route. 3. It is not a branch in the road, but a definite right turn. So, "first right after the garages" would be simpler. 5. Should read "as it bears left" there is a signpost to the Seaton Nature Reserve. 6. Couldn't find the marker-post today and therefore over-shot into Duchy Woodland and missed No.7.

When it has been wet for a while the path downhill at Number 6 becomes running water and very slippery. If you continue into the Duchy of Cornwall woodland (permissive path) the track is much better and slopes gently to the road further on. Walk back along the road to join up with the track into the nature reserve.
