This pleasant circular walk from the Cornish seaside village of Seaton takes us through the beautiful Seaton Valley and through Crown woodland, where there is ample opportunity to catch glimpses of the varied wildlife, flora and fauna. Crossing to the other side of the road, we enter the nature reserve where our stroll allows us time to explore while following the river (the sharp-eyed may spot a brown trout), to the hamlet of Hessenford for a well-earned pub lunch. Our return journey leads us back through the nature reserve, where dragonflies can often be seen hovering over the reed-edged lakes, before returning to Seaton.

A great walk through a nature reserve with some good food at The Copley Arms. For those with dogs, there are two stiles at waypoints 6 and 12. We found the bridge at waypoint 10 a little difficult to find but the rest was very easy to navigate.

We did this excellent walk in July 2006. In places between points 3 and 6 it was slightly overgrown but ok. The Copley Arms is a good half-way stop for a drink/lunch (very good)and a pleasant walk back through nature reserve.
