The walk is over a small group of hills on the outskirts of Staveley, none very high but all giving outstanding views of the southern lakes. A walk linking these fells was not possible until the passing of the CROW Act, since when gates have been inserted in walls to make access between the summits possible. There are no real navigational difficulties but you have to cross one very boggy area.
