Holme Fell is one of the smaller fells of Lakeland at only 317m but its location on the edge of the Coniston Fells means the views are spectacular. The route starts off at the quiet valley of Tiberthwaite, crosses the valley to reach the foot of Holme Fell and follows an intermittent footpath to the summit. Wetherlam is seen in its full stature from the summit and Coniston Water is seen in its full length.
The path down takes you close to Yew Tree Tarn with views down to the lake and the farm nearby where they filmed some parts of 'Miss Potter'. The return from there follows the quiet road back to Tilberthwaite.
