Troutbeck Tongue is a small fell in the centre of the Troutbeck Valley. This walk starts at the village church by a small area of free parking and passes through a holiday park to join a terrace path along the south-eastern side of the valley. The route heads along the eastern side of the valley for several miles to Troutbeck Park, where it starts a short but steep ascent to the summit of Troutbeck Tongue.
On a clear day the views down the valley are superb, but distant views are restricted due to the surrounding of much higher fells. The return follows the same route down to the valley floor and then follows Ing Lane back to the church.
