This is a short walk between two classic Yorkshire Dales pubs.
You can see why James Heriot was so fond of West Burton; it really is a thoroughly pleasant place and the same can be said about its pub, the Fox & Hounds. This walk takes us over pretty pasture to the little Dales village of Newbiggin and on to the alternative start at the Street Head Inn - another lovely pub. When you're refreshed, this walk will return you to West Burton via higher pasture.
Dog-owners please note, there are one or two dog-unfriendly stiles en route and sheep aplenty, so please keep them on a lead.
