This easy walk up the Tunstall Valley starts from the large surfaced Demesne Mill car park in Wolsingham. The route initially follows the Waskerley Beck before starting the long but gradual ascent of the western side of the valley through grassy fields to reach the highest point of the walk at Park Wall. From here the walk descends just as gradually through fields and lanes to reach the dam at Tunstall Reservoir. The route crosses the earth dam and rises briefly but very steeply on a surfaced track to arrive at Backstone Bank Farm. Most of the walk from here is downhill, starting with good views looking down on the reservoir. Pleasant track-, lane- and field-walking then follow as the route gradually descends the eastern flanks of the Tunstall Valley to return to Wolsingham.
