River valley, sheep-farming land and the edges of the moor are combined in a varied walk in this breathtaking part of the Yorkshire Dales.

The walk starts from the Charles Bathurst pub (usually called the 'CB'), which serves good 'gastro-pub' food.

Note that there are sections across open fields and moorland. It is not a particularly well-trodden path but that is part of its charm. Going can be a little heavy in wet weather and you need to be reasonably confident with your navigation.

Enjoyable walk, not too tiring, good views of the North Yorkshire National Park. We thought we had gotten lost between points 12 and 13, but no, we were fine. The moorland was extremely boggy and we had to be careful where we stepped, as we couldnt tell how deep the boggy areas were, so I suggest people walk with extreme caution here on the open moorland.
