An easy walk, that uses different parish paths, country lanes and also an old Roman path next to a river, as well as farmers' fields and lots of footpaths and bridleways. Brampton itself is used by many tourists who are walking Hadrian's Wall and is well-known by walkers. Lanercost Priory has a cafe, giftshop, rooms and the priory itself can be visited (for a nominal fee), or you can just picnic in the grounds adjacent to it.

Loved the walk thanks very much. The paths through the woods were especially beautiful. Thanks for posting this lovely circuit. I think this might become one of our favourite local walks.

This is a very enjoyable walk. We were staying at Lanercost so started from there. We enjoyed the route from Waymark 6 to 13 so much that we re-traced our steps from there. In Brampton, the Howard Arms does very nice lunches.
