From Castle Carrock we gently climb up to Garth Head, passing the site of the castle with moat profiles still visible. From here we follow the path alongside Castle Carrock fell which offers some super views across into Cumbria on a clear day. At Nixon Head we drop down to the reservoir where we follow the rough track to Castle Carrock alongside the reservoir.

A very easy but lovely walk. We did this walk on Sunday 21st June and finding parking in the village was very easy. The instructions were straight forward and the views across the countryside were wonderful.

Completed walk on 27/06/14 nice walk weather good. The pub The Weary Sportsman has been demolished but all the other instructions are correct.

Completed this walk today and thoroughly enjoyed it (good weather too mind!) Nice 'n short, not too strenuous either. The fingerpost has been removed from waymark 7, but there is a new kissinggate to show you the way back to the main road.
