A dales walk with waterfalls and some magnificent views. This circular walk commences in Muker, an idyllic Swaledale village. It takes you up the east side of the dale, close to the river to reach Keld. The walk returns to Muker via a section of the Pennine Way along North Gang Scar.

Wow! What a superb walk. The views are outstanding in this beautiful part of the dales. The path back to Muker is more challenging but worth it. The directions are spot on and easy to follow. Thanks!

Did this walk today, Sept 22, excellent walk. The walk from Muker to Keld is really good with good wide paths and views, easy walking with a good climb. The return leg is very different, for over half the way back it is single file and very stoney, good boots recommended. Took nearer 3 hours to walk. No problem with the dog, all the gap stiles were fine, just watch out for sheep, rabbits and pheasants!

I'll put my cards on the table and say that this is the most picturesque of all Walkingworld's Pennine Way walks. Mind you, you'd have to get a move on to get round it in 150 minutes.

Thanks Paul, and all the others who have pointed out the wrong or inappropriate pictures in the Footpaths of Britain book(s). All comments have been passed onto the publishers. Chris Stewart, Walks Administrator, Walkingworld.

In "Footpaths of Britain, North East England" on page 34 relating to this walk it refers to the North Yorkshire Moors Railway being at Keld. This is a serious error. The railway runs from Pickering to Grosmont. Even worse the photograph is not taken on this line, but probably on the Settle to Carlisle line.
