Plumpton Station to Lewes

Through the flat weald, up and along the chalky downs with dramatic views, then descent into historical Lewes, with the opportunity to return by train via a pleasing country line. You will visit a racecourse and an ancient church and there's a decent pub about a third of the way round. On reaching Lewes there are plenty of fine hostelries to pick from and some enjoyable riverside strolls.
