This is for all those bloated commuters stuck in the traffic jams at Ditchling, of whom I am one. Vent your frustrations, save on the gym bills and take a 45-minute, figure-of-eight walk up here instead.

Take a brisk walk up here three times a week for a month, bettering your time to the top on each occasion and you'll be fit enough to deal with anything this website can throw at you.

This walk explores some of the lesser-used paths below Ditchling Beacon. It's steep and it's short, yet has all the attributes of a good downs walk, i.e. solitude, dry underfoot, fantastic views and the downland flora which change rapidly with the seasons.
