A delightful walk in the Surrey countryside, with plenty of charming pubs to keep the thirsty walker going. You have the option of starting at the Barley Mow, Tilford, The Donkey, Charleshill or The Barley Mow, The Sands, as they are all roughly equidistant.

This walk felt a lot longer than the 5.7 miles shown in the description and sure enough our pedometers made it 7.3 miles. Barley Mow at Sands provided a decent lunch at a sensible price and is recommended.

Great walk! The house 'Long Acre' mentioned at WP15 is now called 'Lillington'.

What fantastic weather today - and what a fantastic walk! Joined by fellow WW subscribers, we had a great time in this lovely area of Surrey. Would definitely advocate walking the extra quarter of a mile down to the Abbey, before rejoining the walk. Barley Mow a lovely pub ideally placed half way round - but their soup today was not as tasty as it could have been...Thoroughly recommend it especially when the sun shines. MB

Tricia Daw 11/3/12 We completed this walk with two friends who have fallen under the spell of this brilliant website and the walk was their choice. The walk is well directed and offers splendid views at one stage. You pass many fabulous properties. We stopped for a light lunch at The Barley Mow in The Sands - we sat outside, it was that warm and sunny a March day. (The soup was OK but nothing more). We completed the walk and then tried out the pub garden of the pub on the green at Tilford - that just leaves The Donkey to imbibe at next time! We did a slight detour to the walk and walked on to Waverley Abbey - well worth the effort!

A very pleasant walk even on a cold Christmas eve. Much variety, good things to see and good underfoot conditions make for a truly rewarding trek, only downside is the short section of dangerous road walking, but other than this, excellent. 8/10.

9 Jan 06. A very pleasant walk even on a dull January morning. I will certainly walk this again on a sunnier day. WP18 Rather than walk along the road there is a path through the woods if you turn left as soon as you reach the car park.
