A charming walk around the village of Witton-le-Wear, taking you through the old village and also through some of the surrounding countryside. There are some spectacular views south towards Witton Castle.

The pond doesn't appear to be there any more. The owner of the new house between 2 and 3, at the bottom of the hill, just past the bridge, has done their best to hide the path and let nettles, apple trees and balsam obliterate the it(even if you approach it from the road by the bridge where there is a tall gate across the entrance below the footpath sign). The steps are also covered in vegetation and washed-down soil. It looked as though no-one has done this for years!
