This is an easy to follow walk from Wolsingham village with great views of the Weardale Valley. The route initially heads west along lanes and through fields on the north side of the valley before crossing the valley floor and heading east, again along lanes and through fields on the south side of the valley for the return back to Wolsingham.

The walk leaves the Demesnes Mill car park along pleasant lanes to cross the picturesque Thorneyhope Beck on stepping stones. A little field and lane walking then takes you up past Ladley Farm to the highest point of the walk revealing great views of Weardale. The route then descends through fields to the valley floor to cross the River Wear and the Weardale Heritage Railway line before starting the climb up a steep but pleasant lane to the high point of the south section of the walk, again revealing good views of the valley. Mainly flat walking through fields and lanes then follows before the route re-crosses the railway line and river to arrive back at the outskirts of Wolsingham. The final short lap of the walk takes you along a riverside path to pass through a static caravan park and arrive into the Market Place. A little pavement walking follows through the village to return to the car park.
